The Keg-Meter will measure and display the amount of 12 ounce beers left in your keg. It also shows you the temperature of the fridge!
What's makes the Keg-Meter affordable and practical is the sensor. It uses a simple inexpensive sensor that attaches to your beer line to determine beer flow. Most devices, like the one's commercially available, use expensive flow meters which don't make it practical for home use. The Keg-Meter was painstakingly designed to be affordable for anyone with a keg fridge yet offer a digital display of the keg's contents and temperature. Commercial versions can cost several hundreds of dollars! No kidding! And are designed for inventory tracking at bars and restaurants not for your personal keg. The Keg-Meter is less precise than those models (+/- 10 beers per keg) but it is plenty accurate for home use. The Keg-Meter needs a one-time calibration when first installed to determine the flow rate of your keg system. After that, the Keg-Meter will count down the number of 12 ounce beers left in your keg(165 for 1/2 barrel, 82 for 1/4 barrel,53 for 1/6 barrel) and ever keg after that so you will always know what's in your keg.

The Keg-Meter mounts directly onto the front of your keg fridge or the top of a countertop height keg fridge with double sided tape. Angled mounting bracket is available for easier viewing. You must drill a ~1/4" hole for the sensor wires to go through.

No. The Keg-Meter is for use only with pressurized beer keg systems.

Installation is easy. Attach sensor 'tee' in the beer line about 6"-12" from the faucet connection. Drill a 1/4" hole in the keg fridge near the faucet. Run wires through hole and attach to sensor. Mount Keg-Meter to the fridge using the supplied double sided tape. Follow the calibration procedure on this page. Reset the Keg-Meter to a full keg (or to amount of beer that you guess is currently in the keg). You're done! Also see the installation instructions.

Depress the 'Cal' button with a pencil or pen. "CAL" should appear on the display. Pour 8 to 18 ounces of beer into a measuring cup that has "ounces" marks. The Keg-Meter will begin counting up to show that it is working. When you stop pouring, the display will flash '0'. Using the 'Temperature/Set' button and the 'Cal/Reset' button, enter the number of ounces poured with one decimal place e.g. 08.3. The 'Temperature/Set' button will count up the digit and the 'Cal/Reset' button will move to the next digit (in similar fashion to a digital watch). Drink the beer you measured and your ready to go!

You need to calibrate it once when first installed. You will not need to recalibrate unless your CO2 pressure changes. It is a good idea to check your calibration about 10 beers into a new keg.

The Keg-Meter will work with most any keg fridge. A converted standard sized refrigerator, a converted freezer, or a ready-made bar height keg fridge. The Keg-Meter has about a 2 foot wire harness from the Keg-Meter to the sensor.

Yes. The Keg-Meter is battery powered to make installation as simple and clean as possible. The Keg-Meter uses a 2032 watch battery available at most grocery stores.

The Keg-Meter has several operation modes and features:

Make sure to open and close the faucet quickly. Slowly operating the faucet can cause excess foaming of your beer and can cause the Keg-Meter to respond incorrectly.
Sensor Adjustment screw. Turn adjustment screw COUNTERCLOCKWISE if Keg-Meter doesn't count when faucet is opened. Turn adjustment screw CLOCKWISE if the Keg-Meter doesn't stop counting after faucet is closed.

The Keg-Meter wire harness contains a thermistor that is used to measure the temperature of the inside of the refrigeration unit. The Keg-Meter's temperature measurement is very sensitive and is immediate. It is not averaged like the factory sensor on your particular refrigeration unit. The Keg-Meter will track the temperature similar to a mercury-type thermometer.
